DR. Agus Wardono, MPd in his dissertation says that the present study investigated the use of vocabulary learning strategies of 26 students of SBI class in SMA Negeri 1 Tuban,
13 males and 13 females with the consideration of variables being high, average and low achievers in vocabulary. Strategy use was assesed trough the strategy inventory for the language learning (SILL) offred by OXford and proficiency was determined by vocabulary test.
This study aimed at identifying leaarning strategies that were most frequently used by each of the three groups of the student, high, average adn low mastery achievers. the result of the study provide information needed for helping students used effective learning strategies to learn vocabulary.
